This design of Hydraulic Pump was produced in large numbers at the Kings Worthy foundry to pump water in remote countries. Kings Worthy is a rural area to the North of Winchester. The railway linking Newbury and Southampton ran along here past the Worthy Down Halt towards Chesil Street railway station in Winchester. Now a public footpath.
